Solidarity

History Is Not a Royal Photo Op

Who acted? Who stepped forward? Who chose courage over caution? Those are fair questions. The Prince Harry-in-Kyiv framing gives them a royal silhouette, but a stirring slogan is not itself the deed. A handsome outline at sunset is not solidarity; neither is declaring that the world must answer and then waiting for somebody else to carry the chair.

Ukraine’s courage cannot be credited to whichever famous figure fits the frame. It belongs to people acting together, including people who will never get a headline or applause. The call that Ukraine has answered and the world must answer too is a moral appeal, not a receipt. History asks what we did; clapping is not an answer. It needs practical solidarity beyond the prince-shaped silhouette.
